Book Review Guidelines
UXPA book reviews help UX professionals find books they’ll love. Whether you’re adding to your personal or professional UX library, these reviews will help you understand the merits of a book before you borrow or purchase it.
Reviews are published regularly throughout the year through the User Experience Magazine. We review books with a focus or potential influence on user experience, usability, and design effectiveness. In addition to books specifically about usability, these may include books on business, human perceptions, psychology, sociology and other fields relevant to UX.
Books are selected from a variety of sources including editorial team suggestions, requests from authors or publishers, and reader recommendations.
Use the below form to join the book review team or suggest a book you want to review.

Writing your review
Reviews are typically 500-1,000 words. They are professionally edited along with all other articles. Reviews have three parts: The general review, related content and structured information. The review typically addresses the merits of the book, highlights such as helpful chapters or takeaways, and the reviewer’s overall perception of the book. A short extract or related material to give readers a sense of the writing style and tone. This might include a passage from the book, related media such as videos, diagrams, or other images, or content from a companion website. Structured information provides a snapshot of the book’s content, layout, and tone.Book review structured information
